The life of a reality competition artist music career has shown to be very short. After the initial excitement and buzz these artist seem to fizzle without their platform which gave them their start. Some of the artist that have seem to have faded into obilvian include Taylor Hicks, Katharine Mcphee, Ruben Studdard, David Cook, and countless other artist who no longer pursue this career or are still trying to stay relevant. Aubrey O' Day is trying her best not become the next artist on this unflattering list. Though to some shes been out of the spotlight you may think that she hasnt been doin anything, but shes been workin hard to fight her way back to the top.For those who may not know Aubrey, she got her start on the MTV competition "Making The Band" in which industry heavyweight Sean P. Diddy Combs was looking for the next pop girl group sensation to join hi Bad Boy records. It took two seasons but eventually Diddy was able to form his group Danity Kane which he felt could be successful and this included Aubrey. Aubrey was a shoe in for most as she was the shows breakout star, she has memorizing personality and her singing and dancing skills were up to par as well, all the things needed to make a superstar.
Danity Kane would go on to have huge success and release two # 1 albums the first self titled and the second "Welcome To the Dollhouse". Although successful the group would struggle to gain respect in the industry which shunned them as just another pop group fabricated on television. Following the release of thier debut album the group were the opening act on the Back 2 Basic tour headlined by Christina Aguilera, and which also featured The Pussycat Dolls a group whose success they were trying to match. Aubrey was once again the one that everyone was drawn to. To some she was not considered the best singer or dancer in the group but she had a winning perosnality that intrigued audiences and helped her and the group steal the attention everywhere they went. Some saw this as unwanted attention that was negative for the group. No one felt more strongly about this than Diddy, and disbanded the group in the fall of 2008. This sadened fans everywhere and they hung on to a glimmer of hope that the gorup would be able to reconcile and be together once again, at this point its pretty clear that is not an option.
Since the groups breakup all five members have gone their separate ways. Dawn probably the most recognizable nowadays is apart of Diddys group Dirty Money. D. Woods is still writing, releasing mix-tapes and doing shows. Aundrea after taking a break is ready to step back into the game and new music has surfaced from her lately. Aubrey hasn't been off her game either. Aubrey starred in the Broadway musical Hairspray while still in Danity Kane the summer of 2008 and returned back to the great white way in 2010 starring in the Broadway adaption of Disneys Confessions Of A Teenage Drama Queen. She has posed for many top magazines including Maxim, Playboy and Complex and also become the face of Famous Stars and Striped. This may have inspired Aubrey as later created her own clothing line Heart on My Sleeve, which features t-shirts and accessories. The line is currently only available online and she hopes to expand to retail stores int the future Aubrey is constant fixture on the LA party scene which always keeps her name out there negative or positive, but as much negative press Aubrey seem to garner it doesnt phase her because shes content with the person she is. Something rarely talked about is Aubrey commitment to charities eventually creating her own organization F.A.N (Fighting Aids Now).Aubrey is poised to make 2011 her comeback year. Shes set to release her debut solo album this year, and her new reality show is set to premiere this spring on the Oxygen network and is titled "All About Aubrey" which will chronicle Aubreys life and hard work to make it back on top. Aubrey sure is ready to make 2011 all about her.
