from what ive read the difference between Core Duo and Core 2 Duo isnt much

the Core 2 Duo are -10-15% faster at the same clock speed but use more power
They're also 64-bit and if Apple uses the Conroe the FSB is a lot faster.

I wouldnt worry about kernal panics or incompatibility issues with thunderbolt. Its like any other peripherals, its been heavily tested by apple and as long as other devices meets the requirements for thunderbolt, there will be no issues.

I hope to see the backlit keyboard back also. It should be a standard MacBook feature.
I think I'll be satisfied with gaming on an Air thanks to OnLive. In fact, it's the perfect machine for it. Just plug in a wireless 360 controller (and optionally an external monitor/HDTV) and play.

Apple goes to all sorts of lengths to protect media files with FairPlay, yet they don't care about stuff like this. Shows where their focus is; protecting their own stuff and not giving a flying f--- about the user. :mad:

As for being tracked, I couldn't care less. In the UK, there are so many CCTV cameras, you can't do anything without it being recorded. No point getting upset about it...

Yes, it was the "pre-announcement" that I find very un-Apple. The fact that the product doesn't have a solid name just adds to the strangeness. Is there a precedent for this at Apple announcements. Sure, I've heard of products that I couldn't go out and get today or even for 4 weeks, but Q1 2007?
This seems to me the "plan b" that had to get announced because the real "one more thing", out of left field announcement, hit a snag.
Maybe it wasn't the iPhone, but something didn't go exactly a planned on the 12th.
Anyone hear how they liked the satcast of the keynote in London?

I�m a recent Mac User, research reveals the fact that AV companies are crying wolf about OSX being targeted by hackers since 2000 though.
What I do is scanning my Mail Downloads and Mail folder from time to time with ClamXAV, just to make sure no stupid Windows Trojans are taking up my precious HD Space.
Everything else is being solved with brain.app. Heck, i�ve even uninstalled Little Snitch, as it bogged down my system performance and it�s not needed if you know what you are doing with your system. I always keep my system up to date with the latest patches from Apple.

What might have changed since the days of Abe Lincoln? Considering his museum is about 200 steps from where I'm sitting right now, I'll offer an answer. The positions of the two parties shifted when the Republicans adopted the southern strategy.
I find it funny (LOL) whenever Republicans point to Honest Abe as a standard bearer for their party when they turned their backs on what he stood for. If he were alive today, he would be a Democrat, and he would be ashamed of the efforts of his party to divide the nation into those who have vs. those who do not.

I find it extrememely hard to believe that Abe Lincoln would be a Republican today since the Republican Party of the 1860s was a completeley different animal than today's conservative GOP. Even though he was a moderate, his party's base of support was in the Northeast/New England and was made up of former Whigs, Free Soilers, Radical Republicans and abolitionists (i.e., America's first "bleeding-heart liberals"). The Democratic Party was the party of "states rights", wealthy plantation owners and slave-holders, and rather arch-conservative elements.
Abe Lincoln first made a name of himself by speaking out against the Mexican-American War in the Illinois legistlature, as a war that was only meant to expand slavery westward (can you say "ANTI-WAR LIBERAL")
Abe Lincoln was also hated in the South (he didn't recieve a SINGLE VOTE in the South!), was even accused to being half-black, even though he was not as radical as some other Republicans.

Has to have some back and forth that could be tracked.
GPS devices don't transmit. I think they'd have a much shorter of a battery life if they were sending signals to the satellite.

Wht the hell not? I don't know a single pro photographer who's laptop isn't crucial to their workflow. Photographers are probably the #1 users of pro-grade laptops and the ones who would most welcome the new hardware and the performance boost it afforded.

Ummm.... Didn't most of the early iOS jail breaking methods target holes in OS. Sure more grey hat than black hat but risk is there to be aware of regardless of platform.
That may be true, but the monitoring of the app store does decrease the chance of malicious apps making their way onto the device. Is it perfect? No. Is it safer than Android? Yes.

I think this was all part of Apple's plan to start using Creative Labs' Audigy Technology in their computers. Apple has never really had a strong audio core. Now, with all the litigation overwith, I think the teams are going to come together. It might even be possible that Apple buys out Creative.

First of all I am not complaining. So don't jump to conclusions.
I am stating the obvious. DVD frame size is better than 640x480 frame size.
I acknowledge that the itunes movies are probably good. I just saying that I rather have the DVD frame size and quality. Plus I can have a physical DVD for back up with bonus, extras etc. It's just a preference.
Frame size is bigger but its also interlaced, so in truth its 720x240 every other frame, once its deinterlaced, the picture can get close to the original, but not as good as pure progressive scan. I think, i might take 640x480p over 720x480i, depends on how widescreen is handled (letterboxing vs true widescreen).
