Dr Evil:
I am trying to take over the world and it isnt easy for somebody like me, I need to know the info, I needed to be in the know. My PC prevented me from doing that.
The trouble was a freakin idiot designed my PC; it wasnt helping me steal nuclear warheads so I could hold the world to ransom.
My PC kept getting errors and it crashed so much, I could never complete my plans on properly. This would make Mr Bigglesworth upset. Meow!
Yeah, and when Mr Bigglesworth got upset I got angry, I had the PC staff at my local store li-qui-dated, yeah, huh-uh!
Thats when I got my Mac, thats when I could finally take over the world, it was so easy. My plans were made so simple.
My lasers would fire, The Alan Parsons Project actually worked.
With the software included with my Mac I could easily organise my iLife with my evil henchmen, instantly my Number 2 knew who he worked for.
It was so easy and I didnt need to spend billions of dollars either.
FADE: APPLE LOGO
Im doctor evil and I took over the world.
Before you think i am weird this is for my college project in media studies as well. I have to design an advert, so i did a switch advert. Yes i have seen the switch poster as well.

Seeing as it didn't start until a day ago and I've had DP2 installed for longer than that, I'm beginning to wonder if it's not correlated;

Lots of results if you just google.
I was looking in the developer forums. That is where you should search since it is a preview release. The people there will be able to assist better.

Are you sure the 2008 model has DDR3? If so, then it means the 2008 model is compatible with DDR3 so there should be no issues, it'll just downclock to 1067mhz.

I'm not seeing anything unusual with those caps, but could you describe what you see a little more? What makes you suspect those caps?
The ones on the left look really fat to me. As i said i could be wrong on this, i don't know much about capacitors. But if the things on the left and on the right are both capactiors, then the ones on the left are 2x the size of the ones on the right in person. They are also taller. is this normal?
I saw this image on google and read several other posts on forums and they said the 3rd LED could be a capacitor issue.

I was asked to get a Sony PS2 Mini for X-mas but will it play MP3 CD and MP3 DVD?
Our DVD deck burned from all the movies played and a PS2 can really do the job for the extra 100$ which at the same time play some games with the kids.

Good time to buy in my book. Apple stock in particular, especially because of all the release events in the pipe line this year.
This.
Except Apple stock seems like a terrible time to buy, with Steve Jobs' current health issues.

AT&T has told me that if you've got one of the old $30/month unlimited data plans you can use the iPhone as a hotspot with no additional charge.
whoa...i haven't heard that. do you have to contact att to set it up? how do you do that? i'm grandfathered in w/ the unlimited plan still.
edit: i just called. they told me that i couldn't tether at all w/ the unlimited plan. they did happen to mention the free wifi at mcdonalds, starbucks, etc. that i could use. she said it in a funny way that made it at first sound like i could "tether" from that "hotspot" to my phone for free. maybe that was the misunderstanding?

So your assertation is that since nature takes a long time to make changes on it's own, any changes we make much faster will be OK. That makes sense, insomuch as now i know that the anti-global-warming people just aren't applying any logic anymore.
My thoughts exaclty.
Sdashiki, when people talk about global warming, they usually don't refer to the phenomenon per se (which is a natural process that changes climate slowly over thousands of years), but to the part of it that is caused by human activities (which is a rapid change of climate due to the emission of greenhouse gases).
from a scientific (NOT environmentalist) point of view cant be proven
Well that's interesting, but "actual" scientists mostly agree that it is real (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Global_warming):
The scientific opinion on climate change, as expressed by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and explicitly endorsed by the national science academies of the G8 nations, is that the average global temperature has risen 0.6 0.2 C since the late 19th century, and that "most of the warming observed over the last 50 years is attributable to human activities",
Anyway, what can't be easily proven is that these hurricanes are related to global warming, not that global warming is taking place.

I just purchased one of the otterbox defenders on eBay for my iPhone 4 :D. I was just wondering is anyone would like to tell me some thoughts on the case such as whether they like it or not, some tips for using it, pretty much anything would be helpful.
Thanks.

Totally depends on what software you want to run and expected number of users. Also does it have to be OSX?
Mac Pro isn't an ideal full time server since you are spending money on video card, Bluetooth, I/O ports, airport, etc.
I don't really agree with this. The costs for Bluetooth an Airport are insignificant, and if you're a small shop, you'll want a GPU in your server (just not a high end one.)
And less I/O ports for a server? Servers should have plenty of I/O ports, especially when you need to do diagnostics. Yeah, maybe the Mac Pro comes with a few too many USB ports, but that's not the worst problem to have.
No more rack mount is kind of a killjoy, but not every shop uses racks anyway.

What is going on in the software dept at 1 infinite loop?
Not only is this update overdue, but its the only one of Apple's own iPhone apps to even be touched for iOS4 or the iPhone 4.
None of the Apps have been updated to a universal version with iPad support.
Oh, but Find my iPhone was critically important to have out on launch...
It's embarrassing.
I mean, what kind of example does this set for other devs? Apple expects their developers of technically completed products (apps) to be updated asap to support all of the latest features of the latest devices. Yet they themselves have half a dozen critical apps that haven't even been touched?
I agree, Apple knows when they will release a product, there should not be a reason to not have their Apps updated to support a new OS... And they really need to get the iPad department working to keep up as well. Come on Apple give us some updates. ;-)

Hi lokerd,
can you or someone explain how to double tap to switch apps with Sbsettings? I cannot see this option!
Sure, under the Activator settings, you can set what does what. Click on the Anywhere button, then scroll down to "Status Bar".
I have double tap status bar set to bring up the application switcher. Swipe right brings up sbsettings, swipe left brings up system settings. Swipe down brings up the home springboard.
Hope this helps.

Is it true you actually have to launch Launchpad first, then find your app and click it open? if so, how is that an improvement? By the time you perform those steps, you could have typed the app name into Spotlight, or opened the app folder in the dock.
Maybe there's a way to have Launchpad open upon startup of your machine by default, then just click open app icons from there, much in the same way Windows users have icons pinned to their desktops?
Looking forward to WWDC in a month when we should get a better idea of what Lion is really going to be like.

Sounds fishy. I'm guessing he will dispute. If you are 100% sure you sent him i5, I wouldn't let him try and fool you. If you have serial number you should be okay. But I have never come across this sort of "scam" before. Crazy. It's best to contact eBay and ask them what to do.
