I find a p&s is invaluable in a theme park with kids. You really don't have time to mess with settings and the last thing you want to do is worry about your camera. I have a zs3 (tz-7?) and find the long zoom and wide angle perfect for all kinds of shots. The one-touch video button helps too because there is often some action you want to catch. Versatility is key for me in that kind of situation.

just chatted with a representative:
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Hi Robert Kaplarczuk,
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Thank you for contacting Monoprice Tech Support.
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): My name is Lacey H.. Give me a moment while I review your question.
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): How are you doing today Robert Kaplarczuk?
Robert Kaplarczuk: very good I'm going to be purchasing the new iMacs and had a question about the HDMI converter
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Alright, how can I help you with that?
Robert Kaplarczuk: it says that it goes in the mini display port which the new iMacs have
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Correct
Robert Kaplarczuk: however at the botom of the page it also says thunderbolt compatible which the iMacs also have
Robert Kaplarczuk: how is it t
Robert Kaplarczuk: hunderbolt compatible
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Correct
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): it it FULLY thunderbolt compatible
Robert Kaplarczuk: so it can be connected to the thunderbolt port as well?
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Yes, the thunderbolt port is a mini displayport, basically an upgraded mini displayport port
Robert Kaplarczuk: ok thank you\
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Is there anything else I can help you with today?
Robert Kaplarczuk: so basically any mini display port wire ordevice can be used in a thunderbolt
TS - Lacey H (Level 3): Yes, thunderbolt is fully backwards compatible, however that does not mean it will give your devices thunderbolt compatibility if they have the previous displayport version.
Robert Kaplarczuk: thank you
Question guys:
What she mean by previous display port version? Does her explanation mean that certain devices do not have to have Thunderbolt ports only mini display ports to plug ihnto the thunderbolt port?

Am I the only one who feels this way?
Yes.....You are ! So what if you get a dropped call once in a while? Some people take it to far sometimes. I live in a rural area and it is rare that my Internet goes down and if it does, I just reboot it and it works !

I apologize if I may have violated the rules with regard to asking a question about selling an item, it's not may intention to come here to pawn something off.
As for my friend, we have known each other since kindergarten (now in our 30s) and I originally offered to give it to him for free but he insisted on paying a fair-market price.
I wouldn't sell it to a friend. Help him find a seller instead.

BUT
Considering that IOS 4.3 just want GM today - it would then show that iPAD 2 will be shipping with 4.21 on it.
which IS jailbreakable.
But when u first connect it to iTunes it's gonna ask you to update to 4.3 which we will just decline for the time being....

Hello:
I am planning on selling my 17'' MBP to one of my good friends as I'd like to switch to a MacBook Air since it will better suit my needs. I was wondering if anybody has an idea of what a fair price would be.
Here are the general specs:
Purchased: Spring 2007
Monitor: 17''
Processor: 2.33 GHz Inter Core 2 Duo
Memory: 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM
Snow Leopard OS
Any feedback is appreciated, thanks

Hi,
1) I have used several bluetooth mice. They say you only notice the lag, if you're playing games. However, the only bluetooth mouse I've used that I liked was Apple's, and it only has one button, so I wouldn't recommend it. I found the Macally bluetooth mouse I used went through the batteries too quickly, although it has a charger. The Apple mouse went on the same batteries, for about two months. The Macally lasted about five days. I still really prefer corded mice.
2) No advantage to Apple's memory. Just get quality memory and make sure it meets the specifications.
3) Doesn't the icurve elevate the Powerbook, so the bottom of it is not in contact with anything? I really think that is all the cooling you would need, but you are welcome to try other solutions too.

Well, the gaming community definitely gets intense in their er... 'hobby' or lifestyle. They take things berseriously. Like the person who stabbed someone w/ a screwdriver at one exhibition event. And come on, who wouldn't take a 'game' seriously if the prize was sponsored gaming set ups from big companies and free games/software/hardware and even beaucoup cash?! :p You ought to see Japan (and moving into the west). People put up posters of their favorite counter strike guy in the same way you would put up a footie or rugby player. Gamers are the new rockstars. They have entire TV channels showing gaming 24/7.
Er... yeah. You'll either want a card and games that support the native res of the LCD, as then it'll be way cool. However, if not, then get the biggest CRT you can find. The problem with CRTs is that they only go up to 21" (iirc, 19" viewing area, or maybe the 21 is the view area... meh. Either way, not as high as an LCD can go)

Thanks for the help everyone, when I hit 250 posts I'll put this in the Marketplace and see if anyone wants it for parts or repair.
Before you jump ship, the good news is that you can drop any number of other motherboards into your Macintosh TV, as long as you don't mind losing the TV capability (and the value of the machine). An LC 575 mobo is an excellent choice:
http://cgi.ebay.com/MacIntosh-PERFORMA-LC575-MOTHERBOARD-820-0464-A-/310242340001?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_2&hash=item483be26ca1#ht_698wt_824
I don't think you need to spend that much money, but it's an example of a way to make your machine functional again.
I think you can replace the TV Tuner board just by itself. I keep reading that "they where a popular add-on for Performa owners". This seems to suggest that the TV Tuner card in a Macintosh TV is the same used in Perfromas and other early Apple computers with TV Tuners.
Unfortunately that's not true. The Macintosh TV was a complete different beast than the video add-on for the Performas. :(

**Kernal Panic Issue I THINK?***
Hi I am having issues with my White Apple Macbook 13" 2.4ghz late 2008 model...One of the macbook memory slots is damaged but the other one is good...It runs fine and all before until now... How do I fix this and salvage this mac? I took apart my macbook and I found out that the adhesive on the macbook CPU + Heatsink is look...I can not screw in any of the screws to the heat sink as it does not fit because it dosent seem the case has any screw holes in it ( I just replaced the bottom housing)...
What do I need to buy the make the gray adhesive under the heat sink and on the CPU it self to make it stick? Will it fix the "shut down / restart " (kernal panic screen issue? )
**I have attached pictures for you guys to see. Let me know what I need to do...thank you..**

I agree. If you put a SSD in the 09 Mac Mini you can always take it out again before you eventually sell the Mini if you wish.

I followed it all the way up to OctaMED Pro. ;)
Oooh, I think I remember that vaguely...But four channels was the best. You had to use up two channels at a time to actually get the sound out of both speakers. But some of the music was *amazing*... Ahhh, good old 8-bit Ensoniq guts. :)
